Every conversation with a client lives in Inbox. A conversation opens automatically when you accept a booking request, and a client can also message you from your public profile before requesting anything.
The layout
Conversations on the left with unread markers and timestamps; the selected conversation on the right. Search at the top finds an old thread by name.
You can pin a conversation to keep it at the top — useful for the event happening this weekend.
Sending a message
Type in the box at the bottom and send. The upload icon attaches files — stage plots, venue maps, timelines, invoices from a supplier.
You can react to a message with a heart, thumbs up, laugh, or exclaim. Handy for acknowledging a detail without sending another message.
About the client
The panel beside the conversation shows who you're talking to, when they were last active, and — if the conversation came from a booking — the event it relates to. The green dot means they're online now.
System messages
Messages marked DJfindr System Message are automatic updates about the booking — status changes, payments received, documents completed. They're a running record of the booking inside the conversation.
What to keep in here
Everything about the booking. Price changes, timing changes, what you agreed about the ceremony, the venue contact the client gave you. If a disagreement comes up later, the conversation is the record — and anything agreed over a phone call or a personal text isn't in it.
This is also a platform requirement, not just advice. Communication and payment about a DJfindr booking are expected to stay on DJfindr. See Keeping Communication and Payments on DJfindr.
What not to send
Never send card numbers, bank details, passwords, or ID documents in a message. Nothing about a booking needs them — payment is handled by the platform.
If a message won't send
Messages are screened automatically. If one is blocked, you'll be told. The usual causes are contact details or payment instructions that move the booking off-platform, or language that trips the content check. See What Gets Flagged in Messages.
Reporting
The action menu in a conversation has Report User. Use it for abuse, harassment, or pressure to take the booking off-platform.
