Identity verification confirms you are who your profile says you are. It earns you the check badge next to your display name, and it puts you in the Verified DJs filter clients use to narrow search results. Available on Pro and Platinum.
Starting verification
- Go to Settings → Account.
- In the Personal section, find Identity Verification.
- Select Start Verification.
- Follow the prompts — you'll photograph a government ID and take a selfie.
You'll need a device with a camera. A phone is easier than a laptop.
The statuses
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Processing | We're checking your submission. Usually quick |
| Verified | Done. The badge is on your profile |
| Requires Input | We couldn't verify you and need more information |
| Canceled | You closed the session before finishing. You can start again |
| Redacted | The session data has been removed |
If it says Requires Input
The common causes, in rough order of frequency:
- The photo of the ID wasn't readable. Glare and motion blur are the usual culprits. Flat surface, good light, no flash.
- The selfie didn't match the ID. Take it in even lighting, facing the camera, without a hat or sunglasses.
- The document had expired. Use current ID.
- The details didn't match your account. Your name and date of birth in Settings → Account need to match the ID.
Select Start Verification again to retry.
Age requirement
The verification check requires you to be 18 or over.
Why it's worth doing
The Verified DJs filter is an exclusion filter, not a ranking boost. A client who switches it on stops seeing unverified profiles entirely — so the cost of skipping verification isn't ranking lower, it's not appearing at all in those searches.
Your documents
Your ID is used for the check and isn't shown to clients or on your profile. Clients only ever see the badge.
