Identity Verification

Trust is the foundation of the DJfindr platform. To protect both clients and performers, DJs on the Pro and Platinum plans can complete Identity Verification to earn a verified badge on their profile. Why Verify Your Identity? - Client Trust: A verified badge signals to clients that you are a legitimate, professional business. - Search Ranking Boost: Verified profiles receive preferential treatment in DJfindr's discovery and search algorithms. - Security: Verification helps prevent impersonation and fraud on the platform. How to Get Verified Identity Verification is securely processed through Stripe Identity. 1. Navigate to Finance → Settings (or Settings → Payouts). 2. Look for the Identity Verification section. 3. Click Start Verification. 4. You will be temporarily redirected to a secure Stripe portal. 5. Follow the prompts to upload a photo of a valid government-issued ID (e.g., driver's license or passport) and take a live selfie using your device's camera. 6. Submit the documentation to Stripe. The Review Process Stripe's automated systems will compare your selfie to the photo on your ID and verify the document's authenticity. This process usually takes a few minutes, but can occasionally take up to 24 hours. Once approved: - Your DJfindr account status will update to Verified. - The Verified Badge (a blue checkmark or shield) will instantly appear next to your stage name on your public DJ profile and in search results. Note: DJfindr does not store your ID photos or biometric data. All identity verification is handled securely by Stripe.

Account Settings & Notifications

The Settings section lets you configure your account details, notification preferences, subscription, and external integrations. General Account Details Navigate to Settings → Account in your dashboard sidebar. - Legal Name & Phone Number — Your real name and contact info (kept private; used for Stripe verification). - Email Address — Your login and primary contact email. - Password — Change or set a new password from here. - Authentication Methods — View and disconnect linked sign-in methods (e.g., Google OAuth). If you signed up via Google but want to switch to email/password, you can detach Google here after setting a password. - Profile Appearance — Choose between Light, Dark, or System theme for your DJfindr dashboard. Notification Preferences Under Settings → Account → Notifications, toggle which alerts DJfindr is permitted to send you: | Notification | Recommended Setting | |---|---| | New Event Request | ✅ ON (Email + In-App) | | New Message in Inbox | ✅ ON (Email + In-App) | | Offer Accepted by Client | ✅ ON | | Payment Received | ✅ ON | | Review Posted | ✅ ON | | Marketing Newsletter | Personal preference | We strongly recommend keeping critical booking and payment notifications enabled on both Email and In-App channels to avoid missing time-sensitive actions. Managing Integrations Navigate to Settings → Integrations to connect external applications: - SoundCloud — Authorizes DJfindr to automatically pull your public SoundCloud tracks and display them on your profile under the Mixes section. - Google Calendar / Apple Calendar — Establishes a two-way sync so any events marked "Busy" on your external calendar are automatically blocked on your DJfindr availability calendar, preventing double-bookings. Security - Identity Verification — DJs on the Pro or Platinum plan can initiate Stripe Identity verification (government ID + selfie). A verified badge appears on your public profile, building client trust. - Two-Factor Authentication — Enable 2FA from the Security tab to protect your account against unauthorized access.

Setting Up Your DJ Profile

Your DJfindr profile at djfindr.com/dj/your-slug is your public storefront — the page clients discover when searching for a DJ. A complete, compelling profile drives more views, more inquiries, and more bookings. Step 1 — Complete the Onboarding Flow When you first sign up as a DJ, DJfindr walks you through a multi-step onboarding sequence. These steps must be completed before you appear in search results: 1. Basic Info — Set your legal name, DJ stage name, and contact email. 2. Profile Setup — Upload a profile photo, write a bio, and select your genres. 3. Service Areas — Define the cities and states you serve. 4. Event Types — Select the occasions you specialize in (weddings, corporate, nightclub, etc.). 5. Rates — Set your hourly base rate and overage rate. 6. Stripe Payments — Connect a Stripe Express account to accept payments. Step 2 — Edit Your Profile (Content → Profile) Once onboarding is complete, navigate to Content → Profile to access the full Profile Editor. Visual Identity - Profile Photo (Avatar): A clear headshot or high-resolution logo. Square crop, minimum 500×500px, JPEG or PNG. - Cover Image: A wide banner displayed at the top of your public profile. Use a high-quality action shot from a live performance. About You - Stage Name: Your DJ name displayed publicly (e.g., Nurth_Nation, not your legal name). - Bio: Write 2–4 sentences about your style, experience level, notable venues, and what makes you unique. - Social Links: Connect Instagram, TikTok, SoundCloud, and YouTube — these appear on your public profile header. Service Configuration - Service Areas: Add cities, metropolitan areas, or entire states you are available to perform in. Each area is stored as a geographic coordinate with a type (city, state, country). Multiple areas are supported. - Genres: Tag your primary genres (e.g., House, Tech House, EDM, Hip Hop). Be specific — this controls which search filters surface your profile. - Event Types: Select the categories of events you perform at (Birthday, Wedding, Corporate, Nightclub, Graduation, etc.). - DJ Extras: List add-ons you provide (e.g., dance lighting, sound system, early arrival setup). - DJ Requisites: List what you need the client to provide (electricity, parking, event schedule). Booking Settings - Hourly Rate: Your base rate per hour. This appears on your profile and pre-populates the Event Proposal builder. - Rate Negotiable: Toggle whether clients can request a custom quote. - Overage Rate: Your per-hour rate for set extensions beyond the originally booked time. - Cancellation Policy: Write your policy text. This automatically appears on every Event Proposal you send. - Cancellation Window: Set how many days before the event a client may cancel without penalty. Step 3 — Add Your Custom Profile Link At the top of the Profile Editor, you can set your custom slug — the URL at djfindr.com/dj/your-slug. This is your shareable booking link. Put it in your social bios, website, and business cards. Tip: Profile tags like ⭐ Top Rated Talent are awarded automatically based on your review score and booking history — you cannot manually add them.
