Two different things: a preview link for something not published yet, and sharing a live event once it's out.
Previewing before you publish
You can generate a preview link for an event that isn't public. Anyone you send it to sees the page exactly as it'll look, without it being live.
Useful for:
- Checking your own work on a phone before announcing
- Sending to a promoter or venue for approval
- Letting another DJ on the lineup check their billing
If a preview link can't be created you'll see Preview unavailable — We couldn't create a preview link for this event. Please try again.
Preview links expire
They're temporary by design. If you're sending one to someone who won't look immediately, generate it when they're ready rather than days ahead.
Sharing a published event
Each event in Content → Live Events has a Share Event action. The public page also has Share this event, which produces a message along the lines of Check out this event on DJfindr: with the link.
Where to share it
Your social accounts. The event page carries your name, the venue, the date, the artwork, and the ticket link in one place — better than a story that vanishes.
The venue and promoter. Give them a link they can push out. It points back at your profile, which a venue's own listing doesn't.
Anyone who asks what you've got coming up. One link beats listing dates from memory.
What people see
The public page shows your artwork, the date and location, the description, Host details with View Profile and Message, entry restriction, and Get Tickets if it's ticketed.
At the bottom, More events by you and More events in that location — so someone who found one of your events can find the rest.
The link works either way
An unlisted event's link works for anyone you send it to. Making it public later doesn't change the link. See Public vs Unlisted Live Events.
