How much to select
These are inclusion filters. A client filtering for Wedding and Latin only sees DJs who have both. So under-selecting quietly removes you from searches you could win.
That said, over-selecting has a cost too. A client who lands on your profile and sees all twenty-six genres learns nothing about what you're actually good at, and "everything" reads as "nothing in particular".
A useful test: would you take the booking, at your normal rate, without hesitating? If yes, select it. If you'd take it reluctantly, leave it off and let those clients find someone who'll be better for them.
Where they show up
On your public profile, both appear under the Services tab as chips. They also feed the genre and occasion landing pages, which is one of the ways clients arrive from search engines.
Changing them later
Edit them any time. Changes apply to new searches straight away. They don't affect events you've already been booked for.
