Your bio is the only part of your profile where you speak in your own voice. It's under Content → Profile → About.
Using Generate with AI
If you're staring at an empty box, select Generate with AI. Type in whatever you've got — your name, where you're based, the events you play, your genres, how long you've been doing it, anything that makes you different — and select Generate.
The more you give it, the better the result. "DJ, London, house" produces something generic. Five lines about the weddings you play, the gear you bring, and the fact you've been resident somewhere for six years produces something usable.
Treat the output as a first draft. Edit it until it sounds like you.
What to actually say
Clients are deciding whether you'll be good at their event. Useful things to cover:
What you're best at. Not everything you'll take. "I mostly play weddings and corporate events" is more reassuring to someone planning a wedding than a list of every occasion.
How long you've been doing it, and where. Specifics beat adjectives. "Eight years, mostly around Manchester, including four seasons as resident at a wedding venue in Cheshire" says more than "experienced professional".
What working with you is like. Do you plan the running order with the client? Take requests? Handle announcements? This is often what a client is actually trying to work out.
Something human. One line that isn't about credentials.
What to leave out
- "Passionate about music" — every DJ is
- "Available for all occasions" — says nothing
- Your rate. It has its own field, and clients filter on it
- Contact details. Clients message you through the platform, and off-platform contact details in a bio can be flagged
Length
Enough to answer the question, short enough to read. Two or three paragraphs. The bio is clamped on your profile with a Read more, so the first two sentences do the heavy lifting — put your strongest point there.
Update it
Worth revisiting when your focus shifts. A bio still selling club nights when you now mostly play weddings is working against you.
