A sourced event is one you start yourself, for a client who found you somewhere other than DJfindr. You fill in their details and the event, and we invite them in to review your proposal, sign documents, and pay — the same flow as any other booking.
Creating one
- Go to Bookings → Proposals and select Create Proposal.
- Under Client Details, enter their First Name, Last Name, Email, and Phone Number.
- Under Event Details, fill in the Name, Occasion, Location, Date & Time, and any Extras.
- Select Create & Invite.
The client gets an invite by email. When they open it and set up their account, the event is already there with everything you entered.
Sourced statuses
The Source tab on the proposal — visible only to you — tracks where the invite is up to.

| Expired | The invite wasn't claimed in time |

Once the status is Claimed, the booking behaves like any other — build the proposal and send it.
When to use this
A client who called you directly, found you on social, or was referred by another DJ. Anyone you'd otherwise be running through messages and a bank transfer.
The advantage isn't administrative. It's that the client signs your cancellation terms, the payment schedule is enforced rather than remembered, and the whole thing ends up in a record you can point at if there's a disagreement.
What to tell the client
Saying "I'll send the contract and invoice through my booking system" lands better than asking them to sign up for something. From their side it's an email with your proposal in it.
Fees
