Lite vs Pro vs Platinum: What Each Plan Includes

There are three DJ plans. Lite is free. Pro and Platinum are paid, and both lower the fee we take from each payment and get money to your bank faster. The numbers that matter | | Lite | Pro | Platinum | |---|---|---|---| | Platform fee | 20% | 10% | 5% | | Payout delay | 6 days | 4 days | Same day | | Bookings | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | | Payments | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | | Free trial | โ€” | 14 days | 14 days | The platform fee comes off each payment you collect. Payout delay is how long a payment waits before it's released to your bank. Current pricing is on the pricing page and on your Settings โ†’ Plan & Billing screen. What Lite includes Everything you need to get booked and paid: - Your public DJ profile and free yourname.djfi.site link - Appearing in DJfindr search, search engines, and AI assistants - Mixes and posts - Booking requests, proposals, and sourced events - Proposal documents from our template library - Payments, refunds, payouts, and PayLinks - Booking calendar and busy blocks - Reviews - Finance dashboard and profile analytics What Pro adds - Identity verification โ€” the verified badge on your profile - Custom document uploads โ€” use your own contract instead of our templates - SoundCloud sync โ€” import your mixes in a few clicks - Calendar sync โ€” connect Google Calendar or Outlook - Booking and mix widgets โ€” embed them on your own website - Extra analytics: mix plays and post likes What Platinum adds - The PLATINUM badge on your profile and in search results - GigGuard eligibility - API access and webhooks - Same-day payouts and the lowest platform fee How to choose If you're not booking through DJfindr yet, start on Lite โ€” it costs nothing and holds nothing back from the booking flow. Once you're collecting regularly, compare the fee saving against the monthly cost: dropping from 20% to 10% on a few bookings a month usually covers the difference on its own. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades apply at the end of your current billing cycle. See Upgrading or Changing Your Plan.

How the 14-Day Free Trial Works

Pro and Platinum both come with a 14-day free trial, and you don't need a card to start one. Starting it Pick a paid plan from Settings โ†’ Plan & Billing โ†’ Upgrade, or during onboarding at the Plan step. You get full access to everything in that plan for 14 days. Your subscription status shows as Trialing. What you get Everything in the plan, immediately: On Pro โ€” identity verification, SoundCloud sync, calendar sync, custom document uploads, embeddable widgets, and the extra analytics. On Platinum โ€” all of the above plus the PLATINUM badge, GigGuard eligibility, and API access. The lower platform fee and faster payout delay apply during the trial too. That's worth knowing โ€” a booking collected during your Pro trial is charged at 10%, not 20%. When it ends If you don't upgrade, you move automatically to Lite. Nothing is charged. Your profile, bookings, mixes, posts, reviews, and payment history all stay. What you lose is access to the paid features โ€” and your fee rate returns to 20% with a 6-day payout delay. What to do with 14 days Most DJs waste the trial by leaving it until the end. A better use: Days 1โ€“2. Do the one-time setup โ€” identity verification on Pro, and importing your SoundCloud mixes. Verification carries on being useful, and imported mixes stay on your profile after the trial ends. Days 3โ€“5. Connect your calendar and set up any widgets on your own site. The rest. Take bookings and see what the lower fee actually saves you. Working out whether to keep it The honest maths: what did you collect during the trial, and what would the fee difference have been? Dropping from 20% to 10% on a couple of decent bookings a month usually covers a Pro subscription on its own. If you collected nothing during the trial, the plan isn't the problem โ€” your profile and service areas are. See Your First Week: Getting Bookable. One trial The free trial is available once. If you've used it, upgrading starts billing straight away. Upgrading before it ends Select Upgrade at any point. You'll be charged when the trial period finishes, not immediately.

Upgrading or Changing Your Plan

You can change plan at any time from Settings โ†’ Plan & Billing. Upgrading 1. Go to Settings โ†’ Plan & Billing. 2. Select Upgrade. 3. Compare the plans and select Select Plan on the one you want. 4. Confirm in the Subscription Confirmation dialog. The dialog shows the plan price, your free trial if you have one, any promotion, and what's Due Now. If you have a promo code, Have a code? reveals the field โ€” apply it here, since it can't be added to a running subscription. When changes take effect Upgrades apply immediately. The features, the lower platform fee, and the faster payout delay are all live as soon as the plan is active. Downgrades apply at the end of your current billing cycle. You keep what you're paying for until then. Timing an upgrade Worth knowing: the fee rate applies to payments collected after the upgrade takes effect. It isn't applied retroactively. So if you've just landed a large booking and the client is about to pay a deposit, upgrading before they pay is what saves you money. Upgrading the day after doesn't. The same goes for payout speed โ€” the delay is set when the payment is collected. Billing You're charged immediately, then on the same day each month. Manage the card from the same page. See Managing Your Card, Invoices, and Payment History. Downgrading Use Upgrade to open the plan table and select a lower tier. It takes effect at the end of your billing cycle, so you don't lose anything you've paid for. See What Changes When You Downgrade for what you'll lose. Which way to move Lite to Pro is the change that pays for itself fastest for most working DJs โ€” halving the platform fee usually covers the subscription within a couple of bookings. Pro to Platinum makes sense on volume. At 5% instead of 10%, the saving scales with what you collect, so it's a decision about how much you're actually taking through the platform. Down a tier is reasonable in a quiet season. You're not penalised for moving back up later. Cancelling entirely Cancellation happens through the billing portal, not this screen. See Canceling Your Subscription.

Canceling Your Subscription

Cancelling moves you off a paid plan. It's done through the billing portal. How 1. Go to Settings โ†’ Plan & Billing. 2. Select Manage. 3. A secure billing portal opens in a new tab. 4. Cancel your subscription there. There's no cancel button in the dashboard itself โ€” everything about billing lives in that portal. What happens next You keep your paid features until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. After that, you move to Lite. Your subscription status will show as Canceled. What you keep Everything that isn't a paid feature: - Your profile, handle, and DJ Link - Your mixes and posts, including ones imported from SoundCloud - Your bookings, past and upcoming - Your reviews and completed event count - Your client list and conversations - Your payment and payout history What you lose Back to Lite means a 20% platform fee and a 6-day payout delay, plus the paid features. See What Changes When You Downgrade. What cancelling doesn't do It doesn't cancel your bookings. Confirmed events are still yours to play, and clients have paid you for them. It doesn't close your account. You stay on DJfindr on the free plan. Closing the account is separate โ€” see Deactivating Your DJ Account. It doesn't stop payouts. Money already collected is still released to your bank on schedule. Before you cancel Worth a look at what you're actually paying for. If the platform fee saving on your current volume is close to the subscription cost, you may be roughly even โ€” and you'd be giving up the features for nothing. Check Finance โ†’ Payments for what you've collected recently and compare the fee difference against the monthly price. Moving down instead If you're on Platinum and it's more than you need, dropping to Pro keeps the halved fee and most of the tools. Use Upgrade to open the plan table and pick a lower tier. See Upgrading or Changing Your Plan. Coming back Upgrade again any time from Settings โ†’ Plan & Billing. Note the 14-day free trial is once only โ€” if you've used it, billing starts immediately.

How Platform Fees Work

The platform fee is our cut of each payment you collect through DJfindr. It's taken automatically โ€” you never invoice us for it โ€” and the rate depends on your plan. | Plan | Platform fee | |---|---| | Lite | 20% | | Pro | 10% | | Platinum | 5% | How a payment breaks down When a client pays, three numbers come off the top before the rest is scheduled to your bank: 1. Total Collected โ€” what the client paid. 2. Processing Fees โ€” the card processing cost. 3. Platform Fee โ€” our percentage, applied after processing fees. 4. Transfer Amount โ€” what actually reaches you. You can see all four on any payment. Go to Finance โ†’ Payments, select a payment, and read the Payment Details panel. See Reading a Payment's Fee Breakdown. What it applies to The fee applies to every payment collected through DJfindr โ€” deposits, remainders, full amounts, event extensions, and PayLinks. It's charged per payment, not per booking, so a deposit and a remainder are two separate deductions on the same event. What it covers Card processing, fraud protection, payouts to your bank, the booking and proposal system, document handling, messaging, and the discovery that brings clients to your profile. Lowering it The only way to reduce the rate is to move up a plan. The change applies to payments collected after the upgrade takes effect โ€” it isn't applied retroactively to money already collected. Taxes The platform fee isn't a tax, and we don't withhold tax from your earnings. You're responsible for reporting and paying tax on what you earn. Your Finance โ†’ Payments and Finance โ†’ Payouts records are the numbers to work from.

Managing Your Card, Invoices, and Payment History

Everything about your subscription lives at Settings โ†’ Plan & Billing. Note this is separate from Finance, which is about money coming in from clients. Your plan The Plan section shows your current plan, its status, the platform fee and payout delay you're on, and the features included. Two buttons sit alongside it: - Upgrade โ€” opens the plan comparison so you can move up a tier. - Manage โ€” opens a secure billing portal in a new tab. What you do in the billing portal Select Manage to: - Update or replace the card your subscription charges - Download PDF invoices - Change the billing address on your invoices - Cancel your subscription The portal is where cancellation happens โ€” there's no cancel button in the dashboard itself. See Canceling Your Subscription. Payment methods The Payment Methods section lists the cards saved to your account, with Add New to add another. This is the card used for your subscription, not for anything clients pay you. If a card is expiring, add the replacement before the old one lapses. A failed subscription charge moves your account to Past Due. Payment history The Payment History table lists every subscription charge with: | Column | What it shows | |---|---| | Date | When the charge was made | | Description | What it was for | | Invoice ID | The reference to quote if you contact us | | Amount | What was charged | | Status | Whether it succeeded | Use the pagination controls at the bottom to go further back, or Results per page to show more at once. Promo codes If you have a code, apply it when you subscribe โ€” the confirmation dialog has a Have a code? link that reveals the field. Codes can't be applied to a subscription that's already running.

Subscription Statuses, Explained

Your subscription status shows on Settings โ†’ Plan & Billing. There are eight. | Status | What it means | Action needed | |---|---|---| | Trialing | You're in your 14-day free trial | None | | Active | Everything's fine and paid | None | | Past Due | A payment failed. We're retrying | Yes | | Unpaid | Payments have failed repeatedly | Yes | | Canceled | You've cancelled. Runs to the end of the period | None | | Paused | Temporarily suspended | Depends | | Incomplete | Signup didn't finish | Yes | | Incomplete/Expired | An unfinished signup that timed out | Start again | Past Due A subscription payment failed โ€” usually an expired card, insufficient funds, or a bank fraud check. We'll retry, but sort it out rather than waiting. Go to Settings โ†’ Plan & Billing and add or update your card via Add New, or use Manage to update it in the billing portal. Your features stay on for now. Left unresolved, it becomes Unpaid. Unpaid Payments have failed repeatedly and access to paid features is at risk. Update your card immediately. If your card is fine and it's still failing, your bank is likely blocking a recurring charge to an unfamiliar merchant. A quick call to them usually fixes it. Incomplete Signup for the plan started but didn't complete โ€” often an authentication step from your bank that wasn't finished. Start the upgrade again from Settings โ†’ Plan & Billing โ†’ Upgrade. Incomplete/Expired is the same thing after it timed out. Same fix. Trialing You have full access to the plan and haven't been charged. When the trial ends you either move to the paid plan or drop to Lite. See How the 14-Day Free Trial Works. Canceled You've cancelled but the period you paid for is still running. You keep paid features until it ends, then move to Lite. Why it matters Your plan sets your platform fee and payout delay. If your subscription lapses, both revert to Lite's rates on payments collected after that โ€” 20% and a 6-day delay. A Past Due status left for a fortnight can quietly cost you real money on a booking collected in the meantime. Where to fix things Card updates and invoices are in the billing portal via Manage. See Managing Your Card, Invoices, and Payment History.

What Changes When You Downgrade

Moving down a plan takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. Here's what actually changes. The numbers | | Lite | Pro | Platinum | |---|---|---|---| | Platform fee | 20% | 10% | 5% | | Payout delay | 6 days | 4 days | Same day | These apply to payments collected after the downgrade takes effect. Money already collected keeps the terms it was collected under. Dropping from Platinum to Pro You lose: - The PLATINUM badge on your profile and search card - GigGuard eligibility - API access and webhooks โ€” existing tokens stop working - Same-day payouts, and the 5% fee You keep everything in Pro, including identity verification and your verified badge. Dropping from Pro to Lite You lose: - Identity verification โ€” the verified badge comes off your profile, and you drop out of the Verified DJs search filter - SoundCloud sync โ€” you can't import new mixes - Calendar sync โ€” outside calendars stop syncing, so blocks from them stop protecting your dates - Custom document uploads โ€” you're back to the eight templates - Embeddable widgets โ€” widgets on your own site stop rendering - Mix plays and post likes in analytics What you always keep Whatever plan you're on: - Your profile, handle, and DJ Link - Your mixes and posts โ€” including ones you imported from SoundCloud, which stay on your profile - Every booking, past and upcoming - Your reviews and completed event count - Your client list and conversations - Your payment and payout history - Booking requests, proposals, documents, and payments โ€” the whole booking flow works on Lite The ones that catch people out Calendar sync stopping. If you were relying on a synced calendar to block dates, those blocks stop updating. Add busy blocks manually or you can be double-booked. See Creating a Busy Block. Widgets going dark. A booking widget on your own website stops rendering. Worth removing the embed rather than leaving a broken block on your site. The verified badge coming off. Clients filtering by Verified DJs stop seeing you entirely. Before you downgrade Check what you've collected recently under Finance โ†’ Payments and compare the fee difference against the monthly cost. If you're collecting steadily, a downgrade often costs more in fees than it saves in subscription. Going back up Upgrade any time โ€” it takes effect immediately. Your verified badge returns without redoing verification.
