Tracking Finances

DJfindr provides a complete financial ledger broken down into Payments (money received from clients) and Payouts (money transferred from your DJfindr balance to your bank account). Payments — Money In Navigate to Finance → Payments. Every financial transaction appears here as a line item. Payments are generated from: - Event Proposal deposits — when a client pays the initial deposit to confirm a booking - Event Proposal final balances — when the remaining balance is automatically charged - PayLink transactions — direct payments from clients via a PayLink URL Each payment record shows: - Client name and associated event - Transaction date and time - Gross amount charged to the client - DJfindr platform fee deducted - Stripe processing fee deducted - Net amount added to your balance Click any individual payment to view the full breakdown. Payouts — Money Out Navigate to Finance → Payouts. Payouts represent the batched transfers from your accumulated DJfindr balance to your connected bank account. Stripe batches multiple individual payments into a single payout transfer. Example: If three clients each pay $300 on a Friday evening: - Three Payment records appear in Finance → Payments - On your next payout date, one Payout of $900 (minus fees) is sent to your bank Each payout entry shows: - Payout date - Total amount transferred - The individual payments included in the batch - Destination bank account (last 4 digits) Understanding the Fee Structure For every payment processed, two fee types are deducted: 1. DJfindr Platform Fee — Based on your subscription plan (20% Lite, 10% Pro, 5% Platinum) 2. Stripe Processing Fee — Standard Stripe fee (~2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) The net amount after both deductions is what hits your payout balance. Refunds If a cancellation occurs and a refund is due per your cancellation policy: - The refund appears as a negative line item in your Payments ledger. - Your payout balance is adjusted accordingly. - Refunds are processed back to the client's original payment method by Stripe. Tip: Use the date filter in Finance → Payments to generate revenue reports for any time period — useful for tax purposes or business planning.

Stripe Payouts Setup

DJfindr uses Stripe Express — the industry-standard payment platform — to securely handle all financial transactions. DJfindr never views, stores, or has access to your bank account details. All sensitive financial data flows exclusively through Stripe. Why Stripe Onboarding Is Required Before you can: - Accept a deposit on an Event Proposal - Send a PayLink - Receive any payout ...you must complete Stripe onboarding. This is a legal requirement under Stripe's Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance rules. Completing Stripe Onboarding 1. Navigate to Finance → Settings (or Settings → Payouts). 2. Under Payout Settings, click Connect Stripe Account. 3. You are redirected to a Stripe-hosted onboarding flow. Provide: - Your legal name and date of birth - The last 4 digits of your SSN (or full SSN, depending on your state) - Your bank account routing and account number (or link your bank via Plaid for instant verification) 4. Review and accept Stripe's terms. 5. Once completed, you are redirected back to DJfindr. Verifying Your Stripe Status Under Finance → Settings, check your Stripe Connect Status: - Connected & Active — Stripe has approved your account. You can accept payments. - Verification Required — Stripe needs additional documentation (e.g., a government-issued ID photo). Follow the secure link Stripe provides. - Charges Disabled — Your account cannot process charges. Contact Stripe support via your Express Dashboard. Stripe Express Dashboard At any time from Finance → Settings, click View Stripe Express to open your external Stripe dashboard. From there you can: - View and download 1099 tax forms at year-end - Change your bank account on file - Update your legal business name - View your payout history in Stripe's interface Payout Schedules by Plan | Plan | Payout Frequency | Processing Delay | |---|---|---| | Lite | Weekly (every Monday) | 6-day rolling delay | | Pro | Weekly (every Monday) | 4-day rolling delay | | Platinum | Daily | 0-day delay | The "processing delay" is the standard Stripe ACH transfer window from when a payment clears to when it lands in your bank account. Identity Verification Pro and Platinum subscribers can complete Stripe Identity Verification — a government ID + selfie check. Upon successful verification: - A Verified badge appears on your public DJ profile. - This builds significant trust with clients and increases booking conversion rates. Initiate verification from Finance → Settings → Identity Verification.

PayLinks

PayLinks ({DJ}.{PayLink}) are custom, shareable payment URLs that let you collect money from anyone — even if they are not a DJfindr user. They are ideal for quick deposits, informal gigs, or collecting balances from off-platform clients. When to Use PayLinks vs. Event Proposals | Scenario | Use | |---|---| | Structured booking with a contract | Event Proposal | | Quick deposit for a casual gig | PayLink | | Client not on DJfindr | PayLink | | Collecting a final balance | PayLink | | Need a signed agreement | Event Proposal | Creating a PayLink 1. Navigate to Finance → PayLinks. 2. Click Create New PayLink. 3. Fill in: - Amount — The exact dollar amount the client must pay. - Description — A note visible to the client on the checkout page (e.g., "Deposit for Halloween Party – Oct 31"). 4. A unique pay.djfindr.com/... checkout URL is instantly generated. Sharing the PayLink Copy the URL and send it directly to your client via text, email, Instagram DM, or any messaging channel. The link works on any device. Client Payment Experience When a client opens the PayLink, they see a branded DJfindr checkout page with: - Your DJ name and the payment description - The total amount due - Payment options: Apple Pay, Google Pay, or manual credit/debit card entry No DJfindr account required for the client. PayLink Statuses | Status | Meaning | |---|---| | Sent | Link is active and awaiting payment | | Paid | Payment completed successfully | | Expired | Link has timed out without payment | After Payment Once a client pays: - You receive an instant email and in-app notification. - The payment appears in your Finance → Payments ledger. - The funds are added to your Stripe payout balance and paid out on your normal payout schedule. Note: PayLinks are available on all plans (Lite, Pro, Platinum). Platform fees apply to PayLink transactions just as they do to Event Proposal payments.
