Onboarding builds your public profile. It has five steps — **Personal**, **About**, **Services**, **Policies**, **Plan** — and you can move back and forth between them before finishing. Fields marked with a red asterisk are required.

Before the steps unlock, you'll be asked to **verify your email**. Open the link we sent you; if it hasn't arrived, use the resend link on that screen.

## Step 1 — Personal

Your own details, not your DJ brand.

- **First Name**, **Last Name**
- **Date of Birth**
- **Phone Number**

## Step 2 — About

This is the bulk of your public page.

- **Profile Picture** and **Profile Cover**
- **Display Name** — your stage name
- **Experience** — years you've been DJing
- **Profile Handle** — the `@` name in your profile URL
- **Bio** — there's a **Generate with AI** button if you'd rather start from a draft
- **Profile Tags** — pick up to three
- **Primary Location** and **Service Areas**
- **Intro Reel** — a YouTube URL, with a switch to show or hide it
- **Social Profiles** — Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Facebook

## Step 3 — Services

What you offer and what it costs.

- **Average Hourly Rate**, plus a **Negotiable** switch
- **Booking Extensions** — your hourly rate if a client asks for more time mid-event, and a switch to allow extensions at all
- **Occasions** — the event types you play
- **Genres**
- **Extras** — add-ons like MC services, lighting, or a photobooth

## Step 4 — Policies

The terms that seed every proposal you send.

- **Cancellation Policy** — how you handle cancellations, in your own words
- **Cancellation Period** — how many days before an event a client can still cancel for a full refund
- **Travel Cost**
- **Requisites** — what you need the client or venue to provide

These become defaults. You can adjust them on any individual proposal.

## Step 5 — Plan

Choose **Lite**, **Pro**, or **Platinum**. Lite is free, so you can finish onboarding without entering a card. Paid plans include a 14-day free trial.

## Finishing

The last screen offers **Setup Payments (Recommended)** and **or explore dashboard**. You can browse the dashboard first, but you won't be able to collect money until payment setup is done — see [Setting Up Payments and Payouts](/hc/djs/articles/setting-up-payment-collection-and-payouts).

## What to have ready

A profile photo, a cover image, a YouTube link for your intro reel if you have one, your social handles, and a sense of your hourly rate and cancellation terms. Everything is editable afterwards from **Content → Profile**.
