API access lets you connect DJfindr to other software you use — a CRM, a spreadsheet, an accounting tool, or something you've built yourself. Webhooks push updates to you when something changes. Both are on **Platinum**.

This is a developer feature. If you don't write code or work with someone who does, you can safely skip it — nothing in the normal booking flow depends on it.

## Where it lives

**Settings → Integrations → APIs & Webhooks**. There's a **View Documentation** button there for the technical reference.

## Creating an API token

1. Under **API Credentials**, select **Create Token**.
2. Enter a **Label** describing what it's for — the name of the tool you're connecting.
3. Confirm your password.
4. Select **Create**.

The token is shown **once**. Copy it before closing the panel — we can't show it again. If you lose it, create a new one and delete the old.

Each token in the list shows its expiry date.

## Labelling tokens properly

Use the name of the thing you're connecting, not "token 1". When you're revoking access to one tool a year from now, the label is the only way you'll know which one to remove.

## Webhooks

Select **Create Webhook** to have DJfindr notify your system when something happens — a booking request arriving, a payment clearing, a document being signed. Rather than your system asking us repeatedly whether anything changed, we tell it.

## Keeping tokens safe

A token acts on your account. Anyone holding it can read your bookings and client information.

- Never put one in a message, an email, or anything public
- Never commit one to a code repository
- Create separate tokens for separate tools so you can revoke one without breaking the others
- Delete any token you're no longer using

If you think a token has been exposed, delete it immediately and create a replacement.

## What you can do with it

Sync events into a calendar or CRM, pull payment records into accounting software, push reviews to your website, or trigger your own workflows when a booking is confirmed. The documentation covers what's available.
